Domain "Eukarya" (instead of Eukaryota)[edit]

This scheme is based on the original publication by Woese, Kandler and Wheelis (1990, Fig. 1, page 4578), called a “universal phylogenetic tree in rooted form, showing the three domains”, which ist not cited. The current name of the third domain is Eukarya, not Eukaryota. The term Eukaryote(s) refers to the member(s) of this domain (see e.g. https://www.biologyonline.com/dictionary/eukarya ; https://www.biologyonline.com/dictionary/eukaryote).

The author of the file please should use the correct designation Eukarya. Furthermore he is asked to cite the original source and explain his own additions. Maya Kandler (talk) 09:13, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
