This is not Sequoyah's cabin. His cabin has been contained within a building for the last 75 years. This appears to be the visitor center as the historic site. The logs of the visitor cabin were, by oral tradition, cut by Sequoyah, but not used for his cabin. They were used to create an a second room to the cabin by a subsequent owner of the cabin. When the Oklahoma State Historical Society bought the property in the 1930s, they removed the second room, restoring the cabin to its state when Sequyah owned it, and built the visitor center with the logs.
