Non-free / fair use media rationale[edit]

I believe that the fair use statement for this photo is in line with Wikipedia's requirements as the photo illustrates HMAS Tobruk (L 50) performing her unique important function (beaching) and no free photos of this are available or are particularly likely to become available. The photo has been taken from the media section of the Australian Department of Defence's website and is only being used to illustrate an article on the ship. --Nick Dowling 01:25, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fully support retention of this image. TOBRUK rarely beaches and then only for an exercise or operation, well out of view of the general public. Having contracted with the Navy for years, I would contend that a free replacement image of the ship performing this function is not readily obtainable. I would also like to support retention of this image. Amateur civilian photographers rarely get to tour Australian military exercises, and even more rarely witness a activity like this. Free use photos are not likely at all to become available. Buckshot06 23:13, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
