This gif is incorrect as it does not depict the "removal" of the Republic of China from the UN --88.212.96.96 (talk) 11:56, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It shows Taiwan as part of the PRC, which is how it is recognised by the UN. --Joowwww (talk) 12:01, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Loop error[edit]

It should be noted that this image has loop errors and will not replay until after a minute or so. Ellomate (talk) 19:47, 9 October 2008(UTC)

Works fine for me. There is a ten second gap between 2008 and its return to 1945. --Joowwww (talk) 21:19, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speed[edit]

It would be easier to understand if it was slower... Can anyone do this? --Lemonade100 (talk) 17:39, 21 November 2008 (GMT)

I can make it slower but the map isn't necessarily meant to show which exact countries joined when, it's mainly just to show the pattern of UN accession across the world. Regards, --Joowwww (talk) 13:19, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FR Yugoslavia/ Serbia[edit]

The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was not a member of the UN between 1991 and 2000. It was never recognised as the successor of the Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia and thus did not carry on the seat of the SFR Yugoslavia. Under Milosevic the country did apply for UN membership, only post Milosevic did it become a member in November 2000. The map needs to be fixed. Regards IJA (talk) 03:15, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

South Sudan[edit]

South Sudan officially became the 193rd member of the United Nations on 14 July 2011 and it should be added to this "timeline" map

East Pakistan and Taiwan[edit]

East Pakistan was regarded as a part of Pakistan before the independence of Bangladesh and as such should be in blue as long as it was a part of Pakistan and Pakistan was a UN member. Also, Taiwan is NOT a part of China. The oft cited UNGA resolution said nothing about Taiwan being a part of China. ludahai 魯大海 (talk) 11:52, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Philippines[edit]

Philippines became a UN member on 1946 and not 1945!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by The one who has Made a world map (talkcontribs) 04:29, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
