Fix code[edit]

{{editprotected}} Please replace both occurrences of #simpleSearch with div#simpleSearch. PleaseStand (talk) 23:49, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What change will this make? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:26, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It will make the code work again. There was a change in MediaWiki that caused the code to break. The reason is that the "more specific" div#simpleSearch in the code I linked to overrides the less specific #simpleSearch currently in use in this Gadget, and exactly the opposite is required. Having previewed this change, it significantly altered the appearance of the page. I'll put two screenshots below because it's the simplest way to explain it (I use monobook and forgive the slack cropping etc). HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:00, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How it looks with your change in preview mode
How it looks now
I don't know exactly why. I have tested this code change using Preview for both my monobook.css and vector.css (at least in Firefox) and there is no difference in Monobook (there shouldn't be, this Gadget is specifically for users of the new skin) and a widening of the search box in Vector (intended function). Sorry if that wasn't clear from the above link. PleaseStand (talk) 02:12, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, it don't look much different at all once it was saved. Let me know if there are any problems (I'll leave this page on my watchlist). HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:38, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
