Panjera is a historic town in Kotli District in [[Azad Kashmir. The town lies in the foothills of Himalayas with subtropical microclimate. This unique geographic patch of land has been blessed with two flowing streams originating from Sudhanoti district of Azad Kashmir. The beauty of streams flowing from North to South makes Panjera a hub of fresh water resources. The town has been situated a hill with scenic beauty of mountains of Baloch, Palandar and Pooch district. The town is a typical example of compact market. The economy is predominantly agriculture based with wheat and maize as major crops.Black mulberry is very common with other horticultural crops.Quite a few people are living in England. Local businesses are other sources of income. It is a culturally rich area with pothari Pahari poetry in wedding functions. Religious festivals are popular and horse riding, tent pegging, horse race and dance are the popular in festivals. Kabaddi is a famous sports with cricket and Volleyball. The area is rich in biodiversity including flora and fauna of immense value. Leapords, pheasants, pangolins, parcopines, foxes, jackels, pea cocks, snakes, many bird species and reptiles are often seen in the region. Famous Mashair fish is found in the streams flowing in Panjera.
