Is .nl the first ccTLD?[edit]

http://www.iana.org/root-whois/us.htm and http://www.iana.org/root-whois/uk.htm appear to have existed since 1985, .nl was 1986? --66.102.80.239 23:25, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the text says that it was the first ccTLD to be ever registered, that could be true even though .us and .uk were 'introduced' earlier. Uhro87 (talk) 21:12, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The .uk domain is not a ccTLD according to RFC 1591 since it required all ccTLDs to use the ISO-3166 country codes, according to ISO-3166 the correct ccTLD for the United Kingdom is .gb. .gb was also introduced before .nl but can no longer be registered, so that makes .nl the first non-US ccTLD in active use that completely complies to RFC 1591. The SIDN site states "Daarmee was .nl het eerste actieve landendomein buiten de Verenigde Staten. " Which means Armada651 is right and .nl was the first active non-US ccTLD.94.210.188.233 (talk) 08:58, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

co.nl[edit]

Removed the .co.nl link from external links as it has no mention in the article and .co.nl is not an official extension. It is a sub-domain operated by EuroDNS, so the link can be considered spam. I believe .co.nl should be mentioned in the arcticle, as many might want to know what it is. I came here looking for information on it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.74.191.229 (talk) 00:09, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
