Discontinuation date[edit]

Why does atricle state FX-8350 was discontinued March 1, 2017? I have one produced in week 30 of 2018. https://imgur.com/a/A9qEhMB — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.232.111.3 (talk) 16:08, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

“Native 8-core”[edit]

In the opening paragraph, this article mentions “AMD FX was a series of high-end AMD microprocessors for personal computers which debuted in 2011, claimed as AMD's first native 8-core desktop processor,” but the actual claim AMD makes is more expansive. In the “menu” box under the heading“Innovative Architecture”, they state the AMD-FX series has “\[t\]he industry's first and only native 8-core desktop processor” (the sales copy doesn't specify which model). My apologies. I expected a preview when I hit “publish.” Anyway, this claim seems looks to me to be more specific than it sounds. Clearly it wasn't updated after 2011 to account for new x86-64 processors. There seem to have been some intel Xeon (server) processors with 8 physical cores. More than that though, it relies on the meaning of “native” (I am assuming physical rather than hyperthreaded, but I couldn't find where/if AMD defined the term). It also seems like the claim is something relevant to mention in §Controversy, but not having read up on it and having spent more time than I intended trying to figure out some of this, I must move on.
