Web-Site Down?[edit]

Now, when I travel to the website it shows their Apache is not configured (2:06PM EST US 09/13/2012). Wonder if anyone might be able to explain that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.179.111.127 (talk) 18:07, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Conning people into downloading trojans[edit]

The mention of 'quypt (terminal editor)' as an included "well known" hacking tool is highly dubious. Quypt is a trojan, and a somewhat elaborate scheme to get people to download a snake-oil program that cracks any game you want. I highly doubt backtrack really does include quypt and I cannot find any mention of it on their site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.210.226.121 (talk) 21:19, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tool list?[edit]

I know there is already a link to the outdated BT wiki, but that wiki also has a Tools article here: http://backtrack.offensive-security.com/index.php/Tools . I couldn't find a tool list on the remote-exploit site, and that's probably on purpose. Any reason why it should not be here or directly linked from here?94.222.183.253 (talk) 11:16, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Source Code?[edit]

Is the source available? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.54.130.130 (talk) 06:24, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Given the fact it's a GNU/Linux distribution, i'd say yes :) DokReggar (talk) 08:22, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I believe this user was making a point, not asking a question. The Source Code for BackTrack actually wasn't available for most of its lifetime. The developers actually insisted they weren't subject to the GPL code they redistributed because the upstream was available; they were in violation of source-release clauses for a very long time. Spam?[edit]

Even though I'm hesitant to even modify someone else's edits on a talk page, I think it's proper to completely remove the spam links on this page. If no one does or objects I'll do it in a few days. → Adrian Lozano (talk) 20:44, 18 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not as scared as you are. It is spam, and nothing else. So i deleted it. --95.88.156.189 (talk) 21:31, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
