Self-promotion in lead[edit]

This page contains blatant self promotion, for example the opening paragraph uses the words 'Ours' far too much.

So revert it - as I just did. That was a very bad bid of PR flackery which looked as if it was cut'n'pasted from the 2005 Annual Report. I have restored an earlier version. Someone who understands all this corporate branding nonsense should give us a digram of the various sub-companies of MTS. --Wtshymanski 01:11, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Downtown Office[edit]

How could the move downtown in 2001 be part of the Province of Manitoba's 'Downtown First' policy? MTS was not a crown corporation at the time, and was not subject to any provincial government policies as to where offices should be located. --68.179.16.113 20:14, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of citations from early 2000s:

New Growth In Store For Core, Winnipeg Free Press, Apr. 8, 2000. That's when 1,500 MTS empoyees moved in to the former Bank of Montreal bldg. at 333 Main St. Jimj wpg (talk) 12:00, 21 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

97%?[edit]

That "97% cellular coverage" must be by population centres, because I can guarantee, there's no way 97% of the geography of Manitoba has cellular coverage. --Enigmatick 21:17, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Really, could you guarantee that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.132.72.95 (talk) 22:41, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of Manitoba geography could guarantee that. - 184.70.37.222 (talk) 13:50, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Believe me. 0.54% of the population of Manitoba lives north of the 56th parallel (northern 1/3 of the province) and cell service is only available to Churchill and Gillam. Everywhere else - nothing past about 75km outside of Thompson. I live in Lynn Lake. [[204.112.242.163 (talk) 03:17, 28 April 2015 (UTC)]][reply]

Third largest?[edit]

Is there any reference behind the claim that MTS is the third largest provider in Canada? I'm reseraching the topic right now and as far as I can tell Rogers, BCE and Telus are the three largest by market capitalization. Also, I just read on their website that they have 6,000 employees not 7,000, I'm a little confused about how reliable this article is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.229.28.165 (talk) 05:47, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Allstream[edit]

This page shows up for allstream, but has nothing to do with them. The subsidiary link for allstream connects to a AT&T Canada article. Allstream shouldn't link to this page unless someone writes section about that subsidiary in this article. It is mentioned in a single sentence.70.48.161.33 (talk) 22:22, 16 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bell MTS as new article[edit]

Wondering if it would be prudent to create a new article for Bell MTS? Rkehler3 (talk) 20:57, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ITT Customer Premises Equipment[edit]

I grew up in the 1970s and 1980s (b. 1966). I remember our first or second plug-in residential phone, ca. 1979 and after we had said "ITT" etched into the moulding of the telephone. So, I guess they sometimes sent out Northern Electric and sometimes ITT sets. Any other companies units they had? Jimj wpg (talk) 00:27, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Updated Financials[edit]

Would it be possible to locate more up to date financials for the Infobox and article? The current figures are from 2013. Jimj wpg (talk) 11:10, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
