Sourcing[edit]

We have got a bit of a problem here. There are plenty of sources emanating from India which mention the article subject but, almost without exception, they are hagiographical. That is quite common with Indian sources, which rend to be written in fairly slavish terms at the best of times & will push it up a notch when it comes to the understandably emotive subject of "common people versus the Raj" relating to the various attempts to secure independence.

On the other hand, there don't seem to be many sources from the rest of the world -a big place, not at all particularly friendly towards the Raj era nowadays. There are mentions of the Banaras/Banares/Benares/Varanasi conspiracy here and there but I have yet to find one that mentions this man, and most concentrate on Ram Prasad Bismil, the Ghadar Movement, the Kakori conspiracy etc.

I will keep looking (I have access to The Wikipedia Library and some other academic byways) but my gut feeling at present is that this article might have to be stripped right back due to lack of reliable sources. It's arguable it even fails WP:GNG, which would be unfortunate. - Sitush (talk) 17:49, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
