On 14 April 2024, it was proposed that this article be moved to Te Pae. The result of the discussion was 'Moved to Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre'.

Rename to Te Pae Convention Centre[edit]

I propose we rename this article to just be "Te Pae Convention Centre". The "precinct" term was an artifact of the rebuild, which is now complete in this case. -- David Palmer aka cloventt (talk) 23:35, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it should be renamed. I'm not sure that it's straightforward, though. In a Google search, the term most commonly used terms appears to be "Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre". When I restrict the search to The Press, they most often refer to the place as "Te Pae", followed by "Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre", with "Te Pae Convention Centre" coming third. To avoid this article being moved around a few times because other editors have other ideas, I suggest you start a formal move request. Schwede 66 01:47, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Convention Centre Precinct → Te Pae – As per the discussion above, there is a case for this article to be renamed. The question is: what should the new name be? You can read my contribution above and I have a slight preference for "Te Pae" as it's what The Press uses most commonly, and they would be the one who write about this facility most regularly. Support "Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre" per recognizability. Te Pae by itself is too precise and doesn't define the topic.
