Clarification Needed: Relationship Status of Victim and Murderer[edit]

Article fails to establish the relationship between Noor Mukadam and Jahir Jaffer. Where they a couple, friends, etc? What was the nature of the missed trip to New York? TanharParbat (talk) 23:44, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A section on protests required[edit]

Section to be added

  • Protests
  • Suggested paragraph:
" According Sophia Saifi of CNN world, Mukadam's protests and candles lit vigils along with bouquets in front of her portraits were held in Pakistan's cities including that of her home town as well as global cities including including Dublin, Los Angeles, New York, London and Toronto.
Saifi says, same time the outpouring of grief also accompanied some backlash within Pakistan, in the city of Sialkot a mural of Mukadam at a vigil was defaced with black paint, and local authorities in the city of Faisalabad did not allow protest to take place."[1]

Extraneous details[edit]

Lots of details about phone calls, taxis, and flights - is all of that relevant?--Hooperbloob (talk) 21:24, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No, Hooperbloob it is not relevant. You make a good point. It is even less relevant now that more substantive factual evidence that is supported by official sources, e.g. the police and courts of Pakistan, have been communicated through local, national, and international press. I will try to clean that up, because it confused me too!--FeralOink (talk) 21:19, 11 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Death of Noor MukadamMurder of Noor Mukadam – The article was recently moved to this title. If it were to be moved, it should have been reverted to its original title Murder of Noor Mukadam, which is in accordance with existing articles.  samee  converse  09:06, 14 February 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. Megan B.... • Oppose per WP:DEATHS. The murder trial is ongoing as of today [1]. Should Jaffer be found guilty, such a move will be uncontroversial, but let's wait for the verdict. 162 etc. (talk) 17:01, 14 February 2022 (UTC) Support, the verdict is in [2] and Jaffer has been found guilty of murder. 162 etc. (talk) 00:27, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment As per WP:DEATHS, until a conviction occured it should be Killing of Noor Mukadam. - The9Man (Talk) 17:54, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nomination. There are 23 inline cites accompanying this article and all of those refer to the event as murder. The form "Death of..." is grossly inadequate in this specific instance regardless of verdict. As an alternative option, I would certainly support the form "Killing of..." per The9Man. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 14:34, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support "Killing of..." per NineMan until trial is over. --Spekkios (talk) 00:39, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. People aren't accidentally decapitated with a knife. She was clearly murdered, whether or not the trial finds this individual guilty of it. Just plain common sense. You don't have to have a legal verdict to have a murder, otherwise we wouldn't describe Jack the Ripper's victims as being murdered. This sort of debate just makes Wikipedia look ridiculous. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:17, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. There have now been three convictions in the murder trial. There's no dispute that a murder occurred. Truecrimefan22 (talk) 18:03, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • He has now been convicted of murder. Time to close this. Note that the BBC calls her Noor Muqaddam. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:12, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
