about historical information:

date of first release comes from 9fans announcement and the fact that sourcesdump starts at 2002-12-12.
date of fossil becoming default filesystem (summer 2003) can be found in the plan9 wiki.

There is no an explanation of what Fossil has to do with GoogleFS, neither in this article nor in the GoogleFS article. Aside from mutual links in articles concerning two file systems, I see no relationship. 15:11, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
