I'll be reviewing this within the next few days. Thanks Secret account 01:30, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Secret, thank you for selecting this article for GAR! I look forward to working with you in the coming days. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns in the meantime and I'd be happy to address them! -- Caponer (talk) 01:43, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Decent article some concerns however..

  • "he was a member of the prominent White political family of Virginia and West Virginia" West Virgina wasn't a state until 1863, just mention Virginia or Virginia (now West Virginia)
Done! -- Caponer (talk) 01:52, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Can you clarify the role of "justice of Hampshire County", also is that part of the Virginia House of Delegates, seems misplaced at the end of the paragraph there.
I've clarified that White was a justice of the peace, and added in a segue stating that he served in this capacity while serving in the Virginia House of Delegates. -- Caponer (talk) 01:52, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • We don't need five citations stating that he was elected for Congress, that's non controversial information.
I've removed two of the unnecessary citations here. -- Caponer (talk) 01:52, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Do we got more information about some of the work he did in Congress and some of his political views?
  • Is it relevant where he resided while he was in Congress?
  • "to his seat representing Virginia's 2nd congressional district in the United States House of Representatives as a Federalist", better to cut that sentence as it's repetitive to the first sentence of the first paragraph. Only relevant if he changed congressional districts or parties.
I've corrected this in keeping with your suggestion. -- Caponer (talk) 01:52, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "compared 726 votes for Tate" missing word
I've corrected this as well. -- Caponer (talk) 01:52, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • "White and his wife, Margaret, raised a large family, which included the following three children". I do have some issues with that sentence, first "Margaret" is redundant as she was already mentioned multiple times in the previous two sentences, second how is three children is "large" by late eighteenth century standards, when the average family had eight or more children, are there more children who died young?
White and his wife had at least three children together, although there may be more given a source's statement about them having a large family. I've restated the sentence to read that they had at least three children, and omitted the mention of a large family. Let me know what you think of this. -- Caponer (talk) 01:55, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Secret account

I presume with this common name there isn't much else to add to this article so passing. Secret account 01:11, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for undertaking this review, Secret. I was unable to find additional information on White's tenure in Congress. Should I uncover any pertinent information, I will incorporate it into the article. Thank you again! -- Caponer (talk) 01:20, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
