Fred SearsFrederick Sears – This may well qualify as an uncontroversial technical request since all four of the men listed upon the Fred Sears disambiguation page are named "Frederick", but only one is referenced as "Fred". Thus Fred Sears should redirect to Frederick Sears, not the opposite. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 23:08, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I for one would have expected that you just click the Move button, as they already redirect to one another and there's no indication of previous disputes. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 14:41, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
After four days, since opposition to this nomination does indeed appear to be unlikely, what remains is the uncontroversial technical request of deleting the Frederick Sears redirect to make room for the move. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 22:49, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Any WP:Page mover should be able to move over the redirect Frederick Sears as there's only one edit in the page history. Meh, I don't really see what's broke here. With our luck soon after this move is made some new "Fred Sears" where "Fred" is short for Alfred rather than Frederick will make themselves notable. – wbm1058 (talk) 00:35, 24 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Since the move has been completed, it's a moot point but, for the sake of discussion, even if another "Fred Sears" or "Freddy Sears" were to become sufficiently notable as to merit inclusion within the Frederick Sears disambiguation page, that would still leave the fact that all four of the currently listed men have been named "Frederick" and that three of those men did not have "Fred" as their WP:COMMONNAME.
Also, if a theoretically-named Alfred Sears, called Fred Sears, were to become notable in the future, he could be listed under "See also" — Alfred Sears (born 2000), American notable person, best known as Fred Sears (notableman).
Furthermore, if such a theoretical man's notability were to be at a sufficiently high level, his entry could then take over the Fred Sears redirect and carry a hatnote pointing to the Frederick Sears dab page. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 04:09, 24 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
