Why the disambig?[edit]

There is no other work or article called "Gertrude's Dream Waltz", so we don't need any disambiguator at all, do we? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 09:49, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Couldn't agree more, but we need an administrator I think to effect the change , as the bare title already exists as a redirect.--Smerus (talk) 10:21, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
+1 There have been a number of ill-advised article moves recently where a parenthetical term was added as a descriptor, not as a disambiguator – Piano Sonata in G major, D 894 (Schubert) – "because not everyone knows thad "D" means Schubert". -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 13:38, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Gertrude's Dream Waltz (attributed to Beethoven)Gertrude's Dream Waltz – There is no other article of this name, and it does not require any disambiguator. There are only supportive comments on the Talk page. Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 22:01, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). –Ammarpad (talk) 04:16, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • @JackofOz:. It appears the title was moved from non-disambiguated to disambiguated per WP:NCM#Composer uncertain guideline, because it is not definitely established with certainty that he composed it. So bringing this here for discussion. –Ammarpad (talk) 04:22, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support – The 3 points at WP:NCM#Composer uncertain miss the most obvious one, mentioned above: there's no need for a disambiguator. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 06:29, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. We simply do not need to incorporate into the title either the name of the composer, or the fact that its attribution is uncertain. If our clients want to know anything about this piece, they read the article. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 08:29, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support move back to original title per WP:PRECISE, especially since the work is not currently attributed to Beethoven. This just reverses a redirect and should have been moved as a technical request. Station1 (talk) 02:42, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nomination. Unnecessary disambiguation.    Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 15:36, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
