Pgallert moved IEEE P802.1p to IEEE 802.1p with the comment, "probably a typo." I don't see that there was any discussion on this move and a move over a redirect is not something that a regular editor can readily revert so WP:BRD is not usable here.

It was not a typo. The 'P' removed distinguishes working group names from names of standards. This article is primarily about the group. This is wonky IEEE stuff we don't necessarily need to expose to readers so I'm personally not asking for a revert but others may feel differently and may not have been aware of the change or unable to revert. So, here's a place to discuss further, if necessary. ~Kvng (talk) 14:55, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the capital P was mentioned nowhere in the article. I can move it back any time (most editors should be able to?!), apologies if this created a problem. But at least it should say 'IEEE P802.1p is a work group' in the beginning? --Pgallert (talk) 15:15, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The P was in there and was removed by an anonmous editor without comment. Sorry I didn't catch that bad edit earlier. Can we put the P's back in the title and lead? ~Kvng (talk) 15:46, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Editors cannot move over an existing redirect with non-trivial article history. We can always C-P but that's very bad form. WP:RM#TR is the way we get this done. ~Kvng (talk) 15:46, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Kvng, I just tried out of curiosity and per be bold, and unless I've made more of a mess it seems to have worked. I guess the non-trivial article history was now at 802.1p, and the P became the pure redirect. Mind to check if all is fine now? --Pgallert (talk) 11:13, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like it worked. Thanks! ~Kvng (talk) 14:46, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
