The standards ISO13406-2 should not be reduced to one of its minor parts which defines pixel fault classes for LCDs. The actual impact of this standard is the safety of the customer and user which is based on certain "minimum ergonomic performance requirements" (contrast, luminance, viewing cone, image formation times, etc.).

ISO13406-2 was the first international standard that significally assisted the improvement of the ergonomic quality of LCD monitors and thus provided a huge benefit to customers and users.
