Requested move 31 March 2024[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: moved. As there is no contest for majority of the nominated titles, this will be closed as "uncontested technical move", except for the Malaysia editions, which discussion has (hopefully) corrected the suggested dab to be used. Further moves/discussions for the Malaysia editions can carried out separately after this closure if there is a further debate on the dab to be used. – robertsky (talk) 08:07, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

– For clarification, I Can See Your Voice created the unique format of a "mystery music game show" by South Korean television producer Lee Seon-young, which is technically classified under "game show" genre instead of typical "TV series", to avoid confusion with actual "singing competition" franchises such as The Voice. Per Qwerfjkl, I decided to rename these articles again as listed, with some cases: (1) the rest of ICSYV local counterpart seasonal pages must be properly as "([Demonym] game show) season [number]"; main description from the American counterpart that classifies under "game show" genre was correct, (2) the Malaysian counterparts have two language-based versions, Chinese (from 2017) and Malay (from 2018); seasonal pages must be properly as "([Language] version) season [number]", (3) the British counterpart seasonal pages must be properly as "(British game show) series [number]", and (4) the Vietnamese counterpart seasonal pages must be properly as "(game show) season [number]", to avoid confusion with the 1979 Anthony Davis and James Newton quartet album. Relisting comment: While I would normally move this as an "uncontested technical request", the number of moves will mean that if it becomes contested at a later date reverting the move will be difficult and disruptive. As such, I am relisting it to see if a consensus can be obtained, but if there are no more comments after a week I recommend it be closed as an "uncontested technical request". I have no issue with "game show". However, I Can See Your Voice Malaysia (Malay version) is not a valid title. If the name isn't "I Can See Your Voice Malaysia" then the correct title is "I Can See Your Voice (Malaysian game show)". I see that the issue is that we have two versions in Malaysia. I Can See Your Voice Malaysia (Chinese version) should be I Can See Your Voice Malaysia (2017 Malaysian game show) and I Can See Your Voice Malaysia should be I Can See Your Voice (2019 Malaysian game show) Gonnym (talk) 16:21, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging @Gonnym: Your proposed retitlings for I Can See Your Voice Malaysia adaptations, I mean, the Chinese "I Can See Your Voice Malaysia (2017 Malaysian game show)" and Malay "I Can See Your Voice Malaysia (2018 Malaysian game show)" counterparts are improper because they could distinguish on a "historical significance" (for the case of MacGyver (1985 TV series) and MacGyver (2016 TV series)). Also, two self-proposals, "I Can See Your Voice Malaysia (Chinese version)" (the "Chinese game show" subtitle cannot be retitled due to having already an existing local adaptation in China, as in I Can See Your Voice (Chinese game show)) and "I Can See Your Voice Malaysia (Malay version)" should be similar to those titlings for multilingual Bigg Boss counterparts (i.e. Bigg Boss (Tamil TV series) and Bigg Boss (Hindi TV series)). We don't use the word "version" in disambiguations. Gonnym (talk) 05:17, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging @BilledMammal, Gonnym: Perfect decision. I have changed my mind to the word "language", that's it. Saisønisse (talk) 06:12, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging @BilledMammal, Gonnym: I've forgot you that the categories are also included in the mass renamings, so please proceed to this discussion (Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2024 April 9#Category:I Can See Your Voice Malaysia (Chinese version)).
