Infobox[edit]

I'm putting together an infobox for Kaukauna and one for Appleton (and possibly the other Fox Cities later on.) I'm doing these in my own project space; if you would like to see how the page will look/contribute, check out Kaukauna with Infobox and Appleton with Infobox. Also, I'm going to try and take skyline panoramas of both cities over my Thanksgiving break. Thor Rudebeck 22:13, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What about the Kaukauna Cheese product? - The T
I disagree with adding it to the article since it is a small local/regional company as far as I know. It would fall under advertising except if it's at least known nationally. Royalbroil 13:51, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's not just a matter of not being a major company (as far as being nationally known) it's not even in Kaukauna. It has a Little Chute tax parcel number and address.Kermit814 (talk) 15:52, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's definitely national, perhaps international. Very common here in Boston, and I think I saw it in LA and Honolulu. In fact, I'd always assumed it was FROM Honolulu, as the name sounds Hawaiian. Why does the article say nothing about the name? Polish? German? Some local/native name? 209.172.25.195 (talk) 10:40, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Schools info, "Gratz staples"[edit]

How complete is the information on schools supposed to be, and where can I get citations for school enrollment figures? Also, am I supposed to use the British spelling of "enrolment"?

Who came up with "Gratz staples"? Never heard of them, never been by the factory, nothing. I Googled "Gratz staples" and found nothing. Thor Rudebeck 01:53, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures[edit]

If somebody out there has got a camera, think of taking a picture from the top of Beaulieu Hill (the Pool Hill). It's probably the closest thing we could get to a skyline shot, and it might be more interesting than the water tower and the dog track (which is becoming some sort of shopping complex, right?) I'd do it, but I'm in Illinois.

That infobox picture is not the most flattering. It looks like a cesspool. Ideas? --Hypertext (talk) 09:33, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Two thoughts. 1) crop the pool out of the existing image, and 2) take the same picture on a bright sunny day. Royalbroil 13:53, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My Flickr account contains a small set of photographs taken in and around Kaukauna. Please feel free to use any of the images here on Wikipedia: [1] - (Acwalby (talk) 21:45, 2 January 2008 (UTC))[reply]

First of all they are not licensed to be used on Wikipedia. The rules in Wikipedia are strict about what can be uploaded. All Right Reserved won't work. Second, I don't see how most of them necessarily answer the question: "What is Kaukauna?" Pictures of a single house doesn't work. The pictures of the Fox River work very well in the Fox River (Wisconsin) article (although I already added too many pictures depending on what monitor is used). Either of those pictures might work well in this article since it is such an important part of the city and its history. Two things answer that question the best: 1)Kaukauna's downtown where Highway 55 used to run since it is so historic and/or 2) A skyline shot. Other things that might work well are 1)important buildings like city hall, 2) important current routes like looking north at the south intersection of 55 and 96, or southern Kaukauna along 55 where there are so many businesses. I get through Kaukauna on rare occasions, so I would eventually take a picture of the historic downtown and from the Pool Hill (if I can find the hill). The dog track was torn down in 2007. I don't think that the current set of pictures is bad, just that they were taken a dreary day. Royalbroil 23:12, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If you would like to use any of the photographs I will change the licence for you. - (Acwalby (talk) 01:29, 7 January 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Ghost.GIF[edit]

Image:Ghost.GIF is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
