Barcode printers[edit]

Why isn't barcode discussed at all? Aren't all label printers able to print barcodes? I know there is a separate article about barcode printers, shouldn't they be merged? Sandrarossi (talk) 11:45, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not all label printers can print barcodes. For example, I've got a "LabelPoint 250", made by Dymo, which cannot. (It cost maybe US $25, so it's not expected to do much.) That said, it sounds like a good idea to add mention of barcode printing to this article, with a link to the barcode printer article. Feel free to be bold and add such yourself!  :-) —DragonHawk (talk|hist) 20:30, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The whole article seems to be an advert for a particular manufacturers printers, which are in my experiance a very narrow range of what is available on the label printer market. There have been great improvements in the speed and quality of Label printers in the past few years. They are no longer just used for printing paper or synthetic oblong labels but can now be used for printing on fabrics such as Soft satin, tafetta and coated fabric. The "Sew02" system by Lancer Labels ltd is one such system and it can still print barcodes, even 2D barcodes. Lancerlabels (talk) 08:29, 8 April 2016 (UTC)Trevor Roberts[reply]
