Redwood National Parks and 3 California State Parks[edit]

Jed Smith, Prairie Creek, and Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Parks ARE COOPERATIVELY Managed by the State of California along with the Redwood National Park only insomuch as the three State Parks were developed and the National Park was NOT, meaning that most of the people were day trekking into RNSP and staying in the State Parks. In planning the overall management of watershed and larger forest protection and restoration issues it made sense for the Feds and the State of CA to work together, but in everything else, the parks are separate. It is an error to say that the Feds are managing the smaller parks, because they most definitely are not AND the sites sourced are NOT saying that. However, if the State were to fail, budgetwise, we might see something different in this relationship, but for now these parks are money-makers and always have been very popular due to the size of the trees (most of the big trees btw are in the State Parks as they were preserved decades before the mostly logged-over RNSP was developed) so it is doubtful they will be seeing threats of closures like lesser used or smaller parks. Beniamino Bufano Peace Statue "The Expanding Universe" State Park[edit]

I just caught part of an episode of California's Gold on this "park" and it claimed it was the smallest of the California State Parks, but it's not listed in the article. Is it not a State Park? Gecko G (talk) 01:17, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know where to find a good list and map for just CA State Parks reserves and preserves (natural and cultural)[edit]

There is a new law (CCR rule change) being proposed that affects only reserves and preserves. Does anyone have a link to a list of only the reserves and preserves? A link to a map of their configurations in relation to other parkland and the rest of the state? MBUSHIstory (talk) 16:37, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
