Alexandria-Washington Buses, Inc. (Blue Line) stopped operations between Arlington and Washington on July 23, 1932;[12] ran past the intersection of Russell Road and Walnut Street[13]

AB&W took over Washington, Alexandria and Mount Vernon Railway on March 20, 1930[14]

Washington-Alexandria Transit Company (Green Line) between Washington and Camp Humphreys (Fort Belvoir);[15] used Russell Road;[16] probably discontinued very early (bankrupt in 1921)

AB&W had routes to the southwest and south (along and south of Columbia Pike), plus Alexandria-Arlington and Seven Corners
