ERRORS ON THE ARTICLE / DOUBLE STANDARD AND UNRELIABLE INFORMATION

This Chart is totally wrong and has dual standards, as it has lots of mistakes. The Official Charts company (as do Billboard and all other international organisations) only count the singles/songs credited to the artist. So the Wham! entries are separated from George Michael, just like Beyoncé entries are separated from Destiny's Child and so on (Cheryl from Girls Aloud, Diana Ross from The Supremes...). To include those, one would have also to include The Shadows total on Cliff Richard total and Paul McCartney and John Lennon Totals should also have The Beatles. So on this table some artists totals are included with his previous bands and other aren't. This double standard makes this information untrue. So for some artists it's included the total with bands they were members and for others isn't yet on the Official Charts the only totals included are the ones where the artist name is credited separately:

I agree with this. So I'll be removing these combined top tens, only credit the ones that are credited by the Official Charts Company.TheHotwiki (talk) 10:40, 27 August 2023 (UTC)

Brian May

I reckon Brian May should be included in the same way as Freddie Mercury has been, adding his own or other 'featured' 3 or 4 top ten singles to those achieved with Queen (so he could be on 28 or 29.. or more?). Certainly 'Too much love will kill you' and 'Driven by you', then (arguably) there's the charity single 'The Stonk' which he produced and was 'featured' on (though not always described as such), and 'Rockstar' as a featured artist with Dappy. You could also look at Band Aid 20... and if so, then Roger Taylor would also get a couple more credits to his name with Band Aid 20 and ..30. But since the ref link to officialcharts.com actually shows 26 tracks for Queen in the UK Top Ten, it's not clear which one has been left out. This would seem to be consistent with the inclusion of others on their own where they are also part of a band, though probably not with the commenter above. Combining group and solo singles in the tally

I think thats just wrong. Thats like saying Cheryl has 9 UK number one singles, when four of those are credited as Girls Aloud. So why is this article counting top ten singles that Beyonce, Geri Halliwell, Paul McCartney, earned when they were in a group or band? Official Charts Company don't combine solo/group top ten singles in their tally, for Wikipedia to do the opposite.

Also, I noticed charity singles credited as a group is counted, for example, Geri Halliwell's charity single with Artist for Grenfell boosting her number of top ten singles. Meanwhile Kylie Minogue's 3 charity singles that hit the top ten (Stop Crying Your Heart, Everybody Hurts and Do They Know Its Christmas) aren't counted, or else she would have been listed with 38 top ten hits instead of 35. This article is completely inaccurate, and needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Lots of misinformation here. TheHotwiki (talk) 11:49, 26 August 2023 (UTC)

I did start taking out the uncredited entrys obviosly missed some,i do agree with not merging Geri left the Spice Girls for a bit so she should not have all the Spice Girls tallys anyway and that's another reason to not merge bet there are other groups where this has happened. Excessive list

I think this article should be trimmed down to artists with 20 top ten singles. The list will get more bloated overtime, if we keep the artists with 10 to 19 top ten hits. Rules wise, this article doesn't meet Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a directory. So limiting this to artists with 20 top ten singles, would be a good compromise. May I add, there's at least 70 artists listed with below 20 top ten Uk singles. That is quite too much. So if no one doesn't disagree, the article should be exclusive for artists that achieved 20 top ten UK singles or more. TheHotwiki (talk) 14:00, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
