Requested move

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: clear consensus to move the page to Lock (security device), for the time being. It seems possible that there is also support for moving this to Lock and moving the disambiguation page currently at that location to Lock (disambiguation). If those moves are necessary or desired, please initiate a new multimove request. Dekimasuよ! 01:07, 17 November 2014 (UTC)

Lock (device)Lock (security device) – The water transport kind of lock (at Lock (water transport)) is also a device—and is described as such in the leading sentence of that article—so the current disambiguator is probably not ideal. Good Ol’factory (talk) 09:52, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

  • Support disambiguator is ambiguous. In ictu oculi (talk) 10:42, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
  • Support. In this case, "device" is ambiguous. Egsan Bacon (talk) 16:01, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
  • Support. I actually wonder if this kind of lock is the primary meaning of the term lock, but at any rate I agree we need more disambiguation than just device. —Neil P. Quinn (talk)
  • Support. Lock (firearm) also covers a "device". Note that a move to just Lock would be even better; it's pretty clearly the primary usage of the term. 209.211.131.181 (talk) 07:16, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
  • Speedy support and try to get this moved to primary topic. I do think it's the primary topic, but with other good contenders like Lock (water transport) in the mix, it's not exactly a lock. Red Slash 05:34, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
  • Support. Device is ambiguous. kennethaw88talk 18:44, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
