Not a hoax article.[edit]

A very little web searching would have sufficed to confirm that yes, Mary Reeser did exist; yes, she did die under unusual circumstances; yes, some theories about her cause of death are highly unusual. This means it is not a hoax article. You may believe that Reeser was not killed by spontaneous human combustion and that someone attempted to make it appear that she had; even if true, however, this would make it an article about a hoax, not a hoax article. -- 65.78.13.238 (talk) 00:15, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Presumed SHC?[edit]

Is the phrase 'presumed spotaneous human combustion' even coherent? The phenomenon has not even been proven to exist, and the "current scientific consensus is that most, and perhaps all, cases of SHC involve overlooked external sources of ignition". Would we accept 'Presumed ghost attack' or 'presumed wrath of God'? Would a better phrasing for cause of death be: 'Unknown. Hypothesised SHC'? Wampagranule (talk) 21:50, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mary ReeserDeath of Mary Reeser – Seems like a textbook case of WP:ONEEVENT to me. Almost all information on the topic relates to her death and not her as a person. ~Bluecrystal004 (talk · contribs) 00:17, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
