GA Review[edit]

Hi, I'll be reviewing this article. It looks rather good, and I don't have many suggestions.

Prose[edit]

  • First described in 2001 from Greece and Hungary, its known distribution* - Could you clarify what "first described" means? I think it's saying that it was originally only thought to live there, and if that's the case, it wasn't described from there, unless that's where scientists described it... yes, a clarification would be nice.
    • The former is indeed what is meant; I've reworded.
  • The other sections read very well. Your prose is very professional, and reads like any old journal article. My one other nitpick is the very choppy records section. I understand that writing these records in one big jumbled section would be even choppier, so I think it's fine as is.
    • Yes. The species may now be well-known enough that such a detailed discussion of records is superfluous, but I think the list remains interesting (and I had fun tracking down all the records!).

References[edit]

The sources you used seem reliable as a whole. I'm slightly confused why the IUCN source has a link to the website's homepage and the others don't, could you please clarify?

None of the others are part of a greater work, as the IUCN Red List account is.

Images[edit]

I suppose you could not find any free pictures of the bat. Perhaps you could add another image of one of the other bats that's aesthetically nice?

Added one of M. mystacinus. I'm interested in File:Myotis mystacinus.jpg, which looks kind of like it might be alcathoe, with its white ear bases. Ucucha 19:17, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Overall[edit]

The article's well-written and comprehensive. It's stable and well-organized. The sources used appear extremely reliable and I have no doubt that the information's accurate (without reading the foreign sources). I'm going to pass the article with the hope that you'll still consider my suggestions. ceranthor 17:59, 2 January 2011 (UTC) Reviewer: ceranthor 17:59, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
