Peppermint rose to fame after appearing in RuPaul's Drag Race. But since 2013, she has had the dubious honor of being saddled with a Wikipedia entry. Peppermint changed her name upon transitioning and asks that publications refrain from mentioning her birth name. In the trans community, doing so is known as 'deadnaming.'

Name change of article?[edit]

I Agree with renaming to entertainer. There's nothing wrong with being a drag queen but labeling Peppermint as just that seems limiting? cave (talk) 20:23, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Another Believer: The reasoning is that she also performs in other capacities than drag (for example, her performance on Broadway). Sort of like how Madonna is a singer, but the article is titled Madonna (entertainer) because she also acts, etc. GorillaWarfare (talk) 22:09, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
