Parentage[edit]

This article lists Roger de Neville and Mary Tailboys as Ralph's parents. I do not have access to any written records. However, the only site I found which claims this parentage is http://famouskin.com/ptjg17.aspx in the 18th generation of Thomas Jefferson's ancestry. They cite wikipedia as their source.

However, I have found three websites which claim different for Ralph Neville's parentage, that is Robert de Neville and Mary FitzRandolph http://www.wurts.net/rmwwanc/g0000104.html#I3347 which cites John S. Wurts, MAGNA CHARTA; ; Philadelphia, Brookfield Pub. Co., part I&II, p. 73 http://www.renderplus.com/hartgen/htm/de-neville.htm#name3299 which offers no citation; They claim Ralph's name was Randolf. http://www.mathematical.com/nevillerandolf1262.html which cites LDS and ancestry.com; They too claim Ralph's name was Randolf.

While there is only a partial etymological connection between Ralph and Randolf, the names are very similar and could be mistaken for each other when written down. Ralph can be spelled Ralfe and Randolf can be spelled Randolph. With these changes the written word would be very similar.

On all sites, Ralph and Randolf are married to Euphemia Clavering.

I think this article should be changed to Randolf Neville and his parents should be listed as Robert de Neville and Mary FitzRandolph — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mellie107 (talkcontribs) 17:11, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. Over at WeRelate we have seen that both "thepeerage" and Medieval lands support Robert de Neville and Mary fitz Randolph as the parents. Since no one has refuted the above suggestion in over a year, it seems reasonable to believe that such evidence is not forthcoming. --Jrm03063 (talk) 01:13, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
