West Redding seems appropriate[edit]

Although the Metro-North Railroad may be in the habit of publishing schedules that shorten the name "West Redding" to "Redding", if you look on a map you'll note that the station is in the West Redding neighborhood in the town of Redding, Connecticut. The name "West Redding" also appears on the name of a nearby shopping center as well as on signs pointing out the neighborhood from nearby Connecticut Route 53. The road that runs over the tracks just north of the station is called the "West Redding Road" since it leads into West Redding from the Starrs Plain Road (that then Joins US Route 7). Hence Metro-North was apparently correct in labelling the station "West Redding" with the signs on the platform.

I would like to change the sentence that currently reads "Though officially named Redding, the platform sign incorrectly calls the station West Redding." to instead read "The station is also known as West Redding, which is the name of the neighborhood within the town of Redding that the station is in." 67.86.73.252 (talk) 00:30, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
