Comments:

  • I did some light ce; anything you dislike, feel free to revert it.
  • I think one paragraph for the lead is fine, but I think it's possible to add one or two sentences covering its design and construction (right now, the lead does not discuss this part of the article).
  • I've added in a sentence briefly describing their design. Let me know if you'd like more details.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 19:35, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • "They were intended, together with other warships, to break the Federal blockade of Confederate coastal cities and to hold some Northern cities for ransom." → Out of curiosity, how do ships hold cities for ransom? (Attack, and demand payment to leave?)
  • Not entirely sure, but I suspect "gimme money, or I'll start bombarding"
  • Otherwise, image checks out, article is stable, and language is clear and concise.
The lead looks good now, given the information available in the article. At some point, if ever, it would be nice if that "ransom" thing is clarified. JonCatalán(Talk) 19:47, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
