Misrepresenting sources?[edit]

In so far as I can see the sources cited in this article, they appear to be referring to Senapati and the Kaikolar, not Senaithalaivar. The former is a title, not a caste. Are the sources being misrepresented, as I think they are and as is common in such situations (eg: with the Mudaliar). - Sitush (talk) 07:31, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

See also Sengunthar, to which Kaikolar currently redirects. - Sitush (talk) 07:33, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unreliable sources[edit]

This page contains many unreliable source like Tamil books and British Raj ear sources. Tirukodimadachengunrur (talk) 12:13, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

They have gone now, as have the uses of snippet views from Google Books, which are never reliable because they lack context. As I said above some years ago, I have doubts regarding the notability of this community because it is very difficult to find sources that use the Senaithalaivar name. Perhaps it is just that we have it under the wrong title and there is a more common name or spelling but, as of today, there are no results for Senaithalaivar at JSTOR, Oxford Journals, Project Muse, Oxford Scholarship, Taylor & Francis, Cambridge Core (both books and journals) or Sage Journals. There also does not appear to be anything reliable at Google Books under the name/spelling, although there are hints of numerous alternate names (eg: see here). - Sitush (talk) 06:18, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
