West Coast Offense[edit]

That may or may not be true, but we currently have a reliable source that confirms what is in the article. If you have a reliable source that says differently, we may be able to work that it, but the info you removed was referenced and the reference confirms the statement you removed... --Jayron32.talk.contribs 17:53, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The source is incorrect. Check out http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/inside_game/dr_z/news/1999/10/28/inside_football/ which is reference #4 in the article which is contradicts reference #3. Zimmerman's article is correct, the AP obituary is incorrect. The first reference also backs this up. Vytal (talk) 18:18, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There should be an expanded section on Gillman's offensive influence. His offense did become what is now known as "Air Coryell" as played by the late '70s early '80s San Diego Chargers under Don Coryell, the early '90s Dallas Cowboys under Jimmy Johnson and Norv Turner, the current Niners & Chargers, the "Greatest Show on Turf" Rams and other teams coordinated by Turner, Ernie Zampese, Mike Martz and their disciples. Gillman's offensive influence in today's league would be second only to Bill Walsh's.

Wrong Stats[edit]
