– the company rebranded in 2018, dropping the group from its name. So this page keeps up to date changing the name would be accurate. Ezzysparks (talk) 12:46, 8 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

(post close comment) - I suspect it's down to the WP:SPA used by the nom to try and promote their company, via WP. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:50, 8 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sustainability Solutions[edit]

South Pole is active in five key areas: Sustainable Energy; Land Use and Forestry; Water; and Sustainable Cities: Industries, Production, Logistics). The company’s products and services cut across these key areas and roughly follow the understand-design-act logic:

• Understanding Climate Risks and Opportunities (LINK). South Pole helps pioneering companies and investors better understand the shifting risks and opportunities landscape as a consequence of the transition to low-carbon economies, as well as increased climate impacts. In doing so, the companies are able to understand systems and their dynamics, making them transparent in the context of a company’s operations and supply chains, its investment portfolio or a specific political jurisdiction.

• Policy and Strategy Advisory. South Pole works closely with governments and the private sector to develop effective climate policies and strategies. It helps create the enabling conditions for systems change by advising on new policy incentives (for example, carbon pricing), establishing industry standards and developing strategies for action on the ground. The company covers the entire value chain and advises on critical levers such as land use and forests, renewable energy and energy efficiency.

• Project Development and Financing. Developing emission reduction projects and mobilising climate finance is part of the DNA of South Pole. The company is deeply committed to protecting and restoring critical ecosystems, increasing investment in renewable energy infrastructure and enabling companies to translate commitments into real action on the ground.

• Funds and Platform Management. In addition to mobilising finance for individual projects, South Pole works in close collaboration with partners to develop and manage innovative funding mechanisms to accelerate the green growth transition from the bottom-up. The company also manages platforms for climate leaders to exchange knowledge and build coalitions.

• Impact Verification. South Pole’s activities have delivered numerous climate and sustainable development impacts. The company relies on its in-house expertise to help others understand their impact. In doing so, it helps create the necessary knowledge base needed to continuously improve sustainability action on the ground and create transparency on the impacts achieved by public and private sector investment.

In addition, the South Pole Digital Lab (LINK), designs and implements digital solutions for the public and private sector. The company helps companies and governments take advantage of rapidly advancing data solutions for tackling climate change and engage broader audiences in collaborative solutions.

Clients & Partners[edit]

South Pole believes in the value of partnerships and multi-stakeholder collaboration to implement the necessary change at the required speed. The company works with key stakeholders from across sectors, including:

Private companies (LINK), amongst them many blue-chip multinationals, but also SMEs, to understand their risks and opportunities in a changing system, and to take appropriate strategies / action

Investment Community and Capital Markets (LINK), providing access to data allowing investments to be better aligned with SDGs and a low-carbon economy, and enabling concrete investment opportunities

Governments (national, sub-national, cities) (LINK), to assist the setting of enabling conditions for achieving the SDGs and the NDCs under the Paris Agreement

The NGO community and private philanthropies, to cooperate on setting goals and standards[1][2]

Universities and Academia, to connect new research with action on the ground

.........I'm sorry, but this is not encyclopaedic content. We require independent WP:RS on a financial company. Please provide proper sources and rewrite before placing back in the article. In ictu oculi (talk) 00:04, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Peers[edit]

I was curious, knowing a little about this Category:Carbon finance area, as to whether Wikipedia considers these companies notable. So here is a list of the leading market players include Degrees, Native Energy, Green Trees, South Pole Group, Aera Group, Allcot Group, Forest Carbon, Carbon Clear, Biofilica etc. Seems like we don't. Until like Carbon Clear they make their own. In ictu oculi (talk)

South Pole GroupSouth Pole (company) – Full disclosure: I work for South Pole. I am picking up on the move request from 8 November 2018. South Pole has not been known as "South Pole Group" for many years and in the meantime the company has grown significantly and is now one of the dominant players in the voluntary carbon market and in carbon finance more generally. This request is to keep the title of this page appropriately up to date and is not meant for marketing purposes. I agree with previous editors that South Pole the company is clearly not the primary use before the geographic South Pole (I sincerely hope the 2018 attempt at this change was done in error), but I respectfully request a reconsideration to go with South Pole (company) Mberg18 (talk) 18:05, 7 July 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi!
