Stuart PickenStuart D. B. Picken – Prof. Picken recently died. People associated with him have looked at the article and requested that the title reflect his preferred usage. (for OTRS agents: ticket:2016092310005736). I have explained that the subject's preferences do not dictate our choice of title. There are some sources which use Stuart D. B. Picken, while others use Stuart Picken. My cursory review did not identify a clear enough preference to leave me comfortable unilaterally making the change. It is my opinion that in a close call, the preferences of the subject should carry some weight. However I prefer that editors with more experience in this area take a look and see if the move can be justified. S Philbrick(Talk) 13:47, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. The subject is normally credited as "Stuart D. B. Picken" in his publications, which are probably how most readers will encounter him.[1][2][3][4] There are references to "Stuart Picken", but I see no reason not to use the subject's preferred form here considering it's well established.--Cúchullain t/c 14:31, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
