I don't think the Stutz Motor Company made any V engines. I have only heard of straight 8s and straight 6s. Wern't DeDion and Cadillac the first to make V8s? David R. Ingham

My last name is Stutz, and Americans pronounce is like "Stutts". It can be pronounced two correct ways in German: Steutz or Stootz. I say Stootz.

The article says

Stutz was forced to raise money to fund his automobile production, eventually selling the company in 1919 after a falling out with the company's major stockholders, Allen Ryan, who then went bankrupt.

Thank you Eddaido for your comment regarding my contribution to this article. However, it would be more useful to provide some specifics regarding your strong displeasure with most of my changes. This would be by identifying the specific areas where I seemed to "miss the point" in my edits. For example, my "mistakes" have included:

Was it the removal of the "in popular culture" section since it does not meet (WP:CARTRIVIA) guideline that has been widely accepted for automotive subjects is that mention of pop-culture references should be strictly limited to cases where the fact of that reference influenced the sales, design or other tangible aspects of the vehicle."

Was it including the standard conversion formulas for engine displacement and horsepower ratings?

Was it in correcting the text misspellings, missing commas, poor grammar, etc.?

Was it removing the excessive links, especially to common terms, as is described in MOS:OVERLINK guidelines?

Was it in providing better placement and common size for the images?

Was it in removing unreferenced boastful superlatives such as the meaningless "they were lavishly furnished" since the cars typically did not include any furniture and the list of features has ordinary items such as power windows and air conditioning?

Article renaming and dividing[edit]

Hello,

I recommend that this article be moved/renamed to Stutz Motor Car Company to reflect the correct name of the business. As it is currently titled, the article incorrectly refers to the name of the company as just Stutz Motor Company.

Separately but related, as noted by the August 27, 2015 topic titled "Conflation," I also recommend that the information contained at the end of this article related to a later company called Stutz Motor Car of America be spun off into its own article with a link back to the newly-titled article. These companies are distinctively different operations and only share a name (that was used to create a connection back to the original company).
