Party standings[edit]

When it comes to making an article about districts of the Texas House, I found http://www.chron.com/CDA/archives/archive.mpl?id=1994_1182086 ("4 House seats, 19 candidates/GOPs, Democrats vie for vacated posts in March primary" - Houston Chronicle - February 7, 1994) which explains the state of some Texas districts in the 1990s. WhisperToMe (talk) 22:05, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The numbers the house split between republicans and democrats cannot be correct. I'm sure it's more like 99100 to 50, not 80/70.

Update needed[edit]

The entire article needs to be updated to reflect the 84th Legislature.GregE625 (talk) 19:46, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cook committee hearing closure controversy (2013)[edit]

I'm not sure this minor incident in one special session is worth mentioning in a general article about the Texas Legislature. This is also somewhat biased, claiming Chairman Cook was "breaching Texas State Legislature operating procedures," which is not a factual statement. The House Rules allow the Chairman to recess or close committee meetings at any time, and there are no "operating procedures" or protocols regarding how long committee meetings must last or how many witnesses must be heard. The statements made are not supported by the article cited. I recommend removing the entire paragraph.GregE625 (talk) 19:46, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

House diagram[edit]

Could someone please explain to me why this diagram is rendered the way it is? It doesn't seem to represent the way the actual house is set up at all. Perhaps there is something that I don't understand. Shabidoo | Talk 17:43, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
