Merge windows 93 to windows 95 but please DO NOT add a windows 93 section to the windows 95 page[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
The result of this discussion was don't merge per WP:SNOW. Consensus to merge unlikely to develop. Duonaut (talk | contribs) 01:50, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Well there is no need for a other page so i want the windows 93 page to be merged as it's not needed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.27.3.169 (talk) 02:05, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Don't merge Windows 93 is about a parody website. It is not associated with Microsoft or the various Windows OSs. And saying that we should merge it but not import any of the content is exactly the opposite of merging. If the OP thinks Windows 93 should be deleted then the OP should take the article to AFD. This suggested merge is so bad as to suggest trolling. Meters (talk) 07:25, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Don't merge, given that the subjects have nothing to do with each other. (In any case, this doesn't sound like a proposal for a merger, but rather for redirect?) If the nominator feels that the Win93 article is not needed, they're free to move an AfD on it. --DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:48, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • I doubt it was intended to be redirect request. The user is quite familiar with redirects and made several redirect edits mere hours before this proposal. Meters (talk) 08:16, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I meant that's what it effectively adds up to, if you expressly don't want to carry over any of the content, and instead just replace the mergefrom article with a redir. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:41, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
      Ah, I misunderstood. Thanks. Meters (talk) 09:08, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. This is clearly notable by itself and distinct enough from any version of Windows. And I don't understand what please DO NOT add a windows 93 section to the windows 95 page means in this context. Skynxnex (talk) 14:17, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • The OP is currently on a short block for vandalism. Meters (talk) 22:29, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • No comments for more than a week, no support other than now-blocked OP... I'll close this shortly unless someone objects. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Meters (talkcontribs) 22:40, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Expanded legacy needed[edit]

Windows 95 was easily one of the most important tech releases of all time. The legacy section here should really be expanded to describe how it changed mainstream computing. Bueller 007 (talk) 02:18, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
