Jamaican Americans , Haitian Americans and Bahamian Americans[edit]

I don't fully understand why these were removed? They have been a part of most of the things that I have read on the Diaspora. I think we should add them back to this template. futurebird 02:19, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree with changes[edit]

This should be moved back to Template:African diaspora and restored to its previous format. "African Ethnic Groups" means groups like the Igbo or the Luo. Of the other articles that have been added, Italian African just doesn't exist (so I have no idea what it means), and Afro-Asian is a term for multiracialiality, not a distinct group at all.--Pharos (talk) 04:31, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Non-Africans in Africa" group[edit]

Not sure why this group is in this template...? Sardanaphalus (talk) 13:23, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

A single purpose account and likely sock has attempted to conflate this Template:African diaspora with the Template:Immigration from Africa. This template only deals only with persons from the New or Old world that are descended specifically from Black people who left or were taken from the continent centuries ago, such as African Americans or Jamaican Canadians. It does not deal with actual recent immigrants and citizens from Africa irrespective of race, such as Nigerian Americans and Egyptian Canadians. The SPA's edits have therefore been reverted. Link to deleted portal removed[edit]

The African diaspora portal was recently deleted. I've removed the red link from the template. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 12:46, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
