Terminology is problematic[edit]

We've had category names before, but apart from interfering with page layout, the terminology is problematic; some people prefer 'rapid transit' to 'metro' for some reason, 'LRT' is a similarly problematic term, and the division of the main-line railways into commuter/intercity isn't all that clear-cut either (several VIA routes are highly commuter-oriented, and some people use GO for non-commuting-related travel). The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved to {{Canadian passenger rail systems}}. Arbitrarily0 (talk) 17:16, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Template:CanadianmetrosTemplate:Canadian rail systems – Template is currently misnamed, as it covers far more than just Canada's three "metro" (rapid transit) systems, instead covering all of Canada's currently operating rail lines and networks. IJBall (talk) 20:07, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Any additional comments:
  • Comment are you going to add cargo rail systems? -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 18:54, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't planning to on my end, no. So perhaps another name is in order? – Something like {{Canadian rail transit systems}}, or perhaps {{Canadian passenger rail systems}}?... I must admit that my original suggestion for a destination for this template was a bit of a shot in the dark, so if anyone can suggest a better name, I'd be all for it! --IJBall (talk) 19:36, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
