US Open[edit]

With the US Open no longer in existence, and with it just being a glorified Players Championship anyway, what do people think to removing it from this info box (and other info boxes)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bradleyspencer1983 (talk • contribs) 10:28, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It still runs, but is now just a bog-standard Players Championships - http://www.pdc.tv/page/Calendar/0,,10180~1999107,00.html The 2009 running was merely a Players Championship with slightly increased prize money - no TV coverage in 2009 - http://www.pdc.tv/page/NewsdeskDetail/0,,10180~1766054,00.html

Therefore it cannot be classed as a Premier Event Bradleyspencer1983

I edited the above. The fact is that it is now merely a Players Championship with no TV coverage. Walk-on music added[edit]

Added a walk-on music section to the infobox today - it will automatically appear in anyone's infobox if their darts info has been filled. I am aware of how to correct this, but if the "walk-on" template appears in infoboxes - editors will be prompted to assist me with editing them. I will add some formatting in around a week's time so it will only appear if filled in. Seedybob2 16:45, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Other Players[edit]

At November 15, 2006 there appears to be only 2 players with the darts player infobox - Barneveld and Taylor. To improve the quality of the articles, add the infobox to players articles where possible. Seedybob2 18:30, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You did a great job on the infobox, my compliments. I don't think we should do the same with the tournaments as you did with the other achievements. It's looks good as it is right now in my opinion. Changed the box so that the 4 major BDO tournaments and 6 televised PDC tournaments are listed separately - it makes it easier for anyone to add tournament victories and best performances. Bloated width[edit]

Nice job condensing the bloated width - however all the players achievements have been formatted to fit this box. Take a look at the "Other tournament wins" section in the condensed version you'll see the data go all over the place. I'm crap at formatting text boxes, so if you can make them read correctly with automatic line breaks or something (like the BDO/PDC Majors section) then it can be switched back to the slimmer version Seedybob2 (talk) 11:17, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Information overload[edit]

As per WP:IBX infoboxes should really just provide a general summary rather than listing everything. I propose the following drastic cuts.

  1. Best performances to show only the BDO and PDC World Championships, with a timeline in the main body of the article.
  2. Simply show number of tournament wins for each organisation. A full list of wins should be in the main body of the article.
  3. Achievements/awards should be kept to a minimum, again with a full list in the main body of the article.

I agree, just look at Phil Taylor's article, the infobox is taking up half the article. We should compare it with {{Infobox tennis biography}} because it just gives major results and tournament wins instead of a list. We should try and make it more like that. Updated field[edit]

The template lacks any field to indicate when the information was updated, so you have no idea how current the information is. Should such a field be added and changed each time the information is updated so that readers have an idea of the currency of the data. Keith D (talk) 22:01, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WDF Header for its Major events missing[edit]

The current info box for the official global governing body the WDF and its Majors are missing the BDO is a member organisation of the WDF but not the global representative why has this been excluded?--Navops47 (talk) 07:50, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
