There's now an article for The Flying Car. I added it under "other", but it doesn't seem unreasonable to me to list it under "New Jersey films". Opinions? --Misterwindupbird 10:26, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Clerks?[edit]

There seems to be a lot of Clerks entries - Clerks, Clerks II, The Flying Car, The Lost Scene, and the Animated series. Any thoughts on spinning that universe off into its own section? Hbdragon88 23:22, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trooper Clerks?[edit]

Does that really belong there? Though it is related to Kevin Smith's work, Kevin Smith had nothing to do with that project other than sending the creators an email telling them to continue their work. I think it should be removed. Djseifer 18:54, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trooper Clerks link has been removed, as Kevin Smith had little, if anything, to do with it other than being the inspiration. Djseifer 10:31, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My Name is Earl[edit]

Is there really enough of a connection between Smith and the show to justify putting it in his template?

None that I see. Removing. Djseifer 00:05, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Green Arrow[edit]

I added Green Arrow to the list of Comics, and added breaks to avoid splitting links. ZZ 19:36, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Evening With Kevin Smith[edit]

Shouldn't those be its own section? Seperated from Jersey Girl, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, and Red State; as they're Q and A's rather than films. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Discobird (talkcontribs) 20:22, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Major deletions/"View Askewniverse" template propsal[edit]

In addition to removing the "notable characters" section (see below), I've just removed the "productions" and "abandoned" sections, as well as several articles in the "miscellaneous" section. I understand the desire of Kevin Smith fans for comprehensiveness, but this is what articles like "Kevin Smith filmography", "View Askewniverse" and "View Askew Productions" are for -- to be detailed and comprehensive. Rather than including a wide array of articles relating to the View Askewniverse and View Askew Productions in this one template, the focus should be on major and important works of which Kevin Smith is the major creative force (his written and directed feature films, for obvious example). I'm not exactly certain on the notability of every comic entry as I'm less familiar with them than I am his films, but he is apparently the sole writer on every one, so I don't see a problem with them (though it just occured to me that the article "Kevin Smith filmography" could easily be expanded to an article titled "Works of Kevin Smith"...)

To why I removed some of the miscellaneous articles even though Smith is the major creative force behind them: works like The Flying Car or the lost Clerks scene are non-feature Clerks-related media that should be covered in that article. Film works such as Scream 3 in which he makes a cameo appearance should absolutely not be included, nor should television works such as Reaper for which he directed one episode of and is not the creator of. In contrast, I've kept Clerks: The Animated Series -- Smith created and co-wrote every episode of the show. And it was broadcast on ABC; works that receive a wide release should be considered, whereas abandoned works, such as his unused Superman script, remain unproduced and don't warrant their own articles, much less an inclusion here.

I feel the "Evening With" series should be included seeing as he is the subject of those films. And of course SModcast, of which he has hosted 60+ episodes. I've also included Sucks Less with Kevin Smith, assuming that he has hosted every episode of this show, as well... but as is everything else I've introduced, it's up for debate.

Christ, I've typed way more than I intended to.

Anyway, I think you get the picture of what I think should be included in the template. Anything I've removed would be better suited in a more comprehensive list article or in a View Askew Productions/View Askewniverse-focused template. As something of a Kevin Smith fan, I would love to see all of these articles and templates better organized and better written, and I'm trying to start now. Anyone willing to and interested in helping out is more than welcome. Pele Merengue (talk) 22:01, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm removing the "notable characters" section. While it would apply fine to a "View Askewniverse" template, the articles listed here should primarily focus on the works of Kevin Smith -- including the fictional population of the works of Kevin Smith is going a step too deep. To be honest when I began reading, I had my doubts on what you were trying to do, but I do commend you on standing up for what you believe is right. I also agree that perhaps a View Askew/View Askewniverse - based template should possibly be created. I personally don't know if you're aware, but our Kevin Smith/View Askew Wikiproject has recently been tagged for inactivity, and we've been looking for members to help. You seem to have great ideas and you're also very well spoken, if you'd like to see more on the project, please look here. Thank you for clearing up what you have done and your reasons for doing so. Have a great day, and happy editing. --HELLØ ŦHERE 23:55, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What about putting Scream 3 and the pilot episode of Reaper under miscellaneous?--Starman15317 (talk) 06:38, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
