Collabora in Free and open-source section[edit]

It appears that site of this suite doesn't contain any piece of software - downloadable for desktop nor in online form that can be freely tested out; there's only "try the demo", "try the online demo" buttons after which user is presented with modal window to provide personal information. Moreover, edits to this template about Collabora were done in 2021-04 so I assume this is just a marketing play of this company. I'd suggest removing Collabora to Proprietary section in template.--83.29.39.235 (talk) 11:29, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 83.29.39.235, I checked, the online suite and all apps for Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, ChromeOS, iOS, iPadOS are free and open source.

  • I googled "download Collabora office for windows" and the latest download appeared https://www.collaboraoffice.com/downloads/Collabora-Office-22-Snapshot/Windows/.
  • Optionally, you could download the source code from Microsoft's GitHub repository and build your own. The link to this is on the Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collabora_Online, I didn't check their business web page to see if the link is there, fyi here is the source code repository: https://github.com/CollaboraOnline
  • The online demo buttons on their website ask you to provide personal information as you said, but they are still free and open source, but the source is compiled for you.
  • Their website shows that you have the option of paying for varying levels of support depending on what you require for your enterprise, I guess this helps pays for the development of Collabora Online and the Collabora Office apps, and in many cases LibreOffice. --12think (talk) 12:01, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
