missing C-class category[edit]

{{editprotected}} The template is not evaluating "c" as a category. As per discussion on the project page this should be corrected. The missing code appears to be

 |c|C=[[Category:C-Class visual arts articles|{{PAGENAME}}]]

Thanks Enki H. (talk) 13:41, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Done. --- RockMFR 02:58, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Importance parameter[edit]

Should this not have a field for "importance", as in Template:WikiProject Pornography, and maybe "listas" (not sure if that's necessary or not)? Ty 13:11, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Perhaps we should try to agree a quick "sample" list of articles with ratings to help assessors. Don't know about "listas". Johnbod (talk) 13:41, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There is a very useful model for guidance here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Pornography/Assessment, which could be adapted. Ty 13:53, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It would need adapting; it's a very different world! "Under no circumstances should any individual person be assigned top importance" would not work for us I think. Johnbod (talk) 15:08, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please replace image[edit]

The current image (File:WPVisualArts.png) should be replaced with its SVG version, File:WPVisualArts.svg. Vector images scale better, and the replacement image provides a more crisp image at 80px. --Gyrobo (talk) 23:55, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

 Okay — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:30, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please add portal[edit]

Please add {{Portal|Arts}} to this template, below the main portal link for Visual arts. — Cirt (talk) 07:40, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please be more specific about what needs to be changed. Use the sandbox. Anomie 01:12, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Importance ratings[edit]

I've removed this parameter, I hope correctly, as the project has decided more than once that we don't do these. It was added 10 days or so ago. Please don't re-add without discussing at the main project talk page, not here. Johnbod (talk) 13:15, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Concur with Johnbod on this. I don't see the point of importance ratings as they are ambiguous and poorly assigned. VA articles have never had them and have not suffered because of this.freshacconci talktalk 16:05, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Missing importance category[edit]

A category of importance is missing. Please add one on.

Qwertyxp2000 (talk) 04:01, 13 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The project decided long ago not to have one, for good reasons - please go away. Johnbod (talk) 11:20, 13 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No its not missing. Christian75 (talk) 07:10, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It is again now. Thanks. I've added a note that this should be discussed at the project before re-adding. Johnbod (talk) 14:42, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please add a parameter for WikiProject Public Art[edit]

Per the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Public Art § Conversion into task force, could a parameter for WikiProject Public Art please be added to this template, as it has been agreed to convert that project into a task force of WikiProject Visual arts? The desired change has been mocked up in the sandbox so it would be a matter of copying and pasting the code from there. Ham II (talk) 08:41, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

 Completed. Please update the template documentation as needed. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'r there 17:18, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Paine Ellsworth and Ham II:  Done, see this edit. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 18:21, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Paine Ellsworth and Redrose64: Thank you both! Ham II (talk) 19:05, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
To editor Redrose64: thank you for that! and Ham II, it's my pleasure! P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'r there 01:39, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Paine Ellsworth: Can you please replace all instances of TF_2 with TF_1 (case must be the same, just numbers different). Just in case it may be the reason WP:RATER isn't working as expected, despite working on {{WikiProject London}} which had nothing else different. Basically, I think the script tries to find TF_1, and if it doesn't find one it stops looking further, so better to keep it ordered correctly. Thanks!  Completed. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'r there 17:15, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much, WP:RATER now works correctly. Parameters in the same order as they appear in template. To anyone following this: You may need to clear cache/cookies for changes to show up. CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 18:11, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
my pleasure! Paine  19:35, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Primefac and CX Zoom: Regarding this edit and this one, were there any instances of |public_art= beforehand, and have they all been tracked down and amended? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 12:41, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
All talkspace transclusions were modified by Primefac. I'll modify transclusions in the remaining talk pages later today. CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 12:47, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I fixed everything I found; forgot about Template talk, so thanks for the ping. Primefac (talk) 13:05, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 30 June 2023[edit]

Changes:

Change this

|tf 1 = {{{public-art|}}}
 |TF_1_LINK           = Wikipedia:WikiProject Public Art
 |TF_1_NAME = the public art task force
 |TF_1_NESTED         = Public art
 |TF_1_IMAGE          = Auguste Rodin - Penseur.png
 |TF_1_QUALITY        = yes
 |TF_1_ASSESSMENT_CAT = Public Art articles
 |TF_1_MAIN_CAT = WikiProject Public Art articles

to this

|tf 1 = {{{public-art|}}}
 |TF_1_LINK           = Wikipedia:WikiProject Visual arts/Public art
 |TF_1_NAME = the public art task force
 |TF_1_NESTED         = Public art
 |TF_1_IMAGE          = Auguste Rodin - Penseur.png
 |TF_1_QUALITY        = yes
 |TF_1_ASSESSMENT_CAT = public art articles
 |TF_1_MAIN_CAT       = Public art articles

Per RfC and subsequent discussion, WikiProject Public Art (uppercase A) was converted to a taskforce of WikiProject Visual arts, and renamed to "Public art" (lowercase a). The |tf parameters were added to this template in 2022, but the relevant pages were just moved. After the template is modified, please let me know so that I can move the categories (from uppercase A to lowercase a). Thanks! CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 09:12, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Paine Ellsworth: Thanks a lot. Can you please do one more thing? Please remove all the tf_1 parameters at Template:WikiProject New York City. It links to a dormant taskforce under WikiProject Public Art (which got merged into here). According to the RfC and discussion linked above, dormant taskforces like NYC's are to be deprecated. Only 22 articles were tagged using |art=yes of WPNYC. I made a list here. Of them, 11 were not public art, editors probably misunderstood the parameter because it only says "art", not "public art"; 4 did not have the current public art banner, so I added it; 7 had both art=yes, and current public art banner, so I just removed the |art parameter. As of now, tf_1 remains fully unused. Also, please modify the remaining taskforce numbers in numerical sequence. That is because if WP:RATER doesn't find tf_1 in template code, it refuses to recognise tf_2 and beyond. Thanks! CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 20:59, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
