Bernard Krisher (1931-) is an German-born retired American journalist, philanthropist, and Holocaust survivor. He is known for starting over 300 schools in Cambodia, as well as Cambodia's only daily English language newspaper, The Cambodia Daily based in Phnom Penh. In 2005, He was recognized by Time Asia as one of 20 Asian heroes. [1]

Early Life[edit]

Krisher was born in 1931, in Frankfurt, Germany. In 1937, his family escaped from Germany into Franace, and in 1941, they moved to the United States following the German occupation of France. [2]
