Season 6

The seventh season of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here was commissioned by Network 10 in May 2020.[2][3] It launched on 3 January 2021 and was hosted by Julia Morris and Chris Brown.[1][4] The season was the first to be pre-recorded[5][6] and filmed in Australia, instead of its usual production location in South Africa, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.[2] Filming occurred over four weeks in November and December 2020, with a live grand finale airing in January 2021.[5][6][7]

Cast[edit]

Celebrity chef and former My Kitchen Rules judge Pete Evans was intended to be a contestant, but was dropped from the show following a controversial social media post, that featured neo-Nazi symbol known as the Black Sun.[8]

Trials[edit]

The contestants take part in daily trials to food for their nightly dinner. These trials aim to test both physical and mental abilities. Success is usually determined by the number of stars collected during the trial, with each star representing one meal earned by the winning contestant for their camp mates

The public voted for who they wanted to face the trial
The contestants decided who did which trial
The trial was compulsory and neither the public nor celebrities decided who took part
The contestants were chosen by the evicted celebrities
The voting for the trial was of dual origin

Notes[edit]

^ a The team captains competed to determine who got the first choice of a teammate from the three options given. King of the Jungle Miguel Maestre returned to help facilitate this trial.
^ b The second set of celebrities also competed for their choice of teammates.
^ c ^ ^ ^ In the first week, the celebrities competed in a set of Trials dubbed "The Hungry Games", where the winning team would win a hot dinner delivery, the second-placed team would win ingredients like in previous seasons and the third-placed team would receive "diddly squat" and could only eat their staple rations of rice & beans.
^ d Abbie & Grant had boxes placed on their head to remove their vision and had to navigate 4 rooms with different obstacles. Once the switch on the wall was turned on, one other celebrity per room directed them towards the exit to the next room and describing the shape of the door.
^ e While Abbie, Colin, Dipper, Jess and Toni participated in this Trial, all campmates were invited to watch as guests at the "wedding".
^ f The celebrities earnt 4 stars in the Trial, but Dr. Chris attempted it to win all the stars for the celebrities' final meal in camp.
