About S. Rich[edit]

Hello, and welcome to my user page!

COI Declaration[edit]

First off, I'm S. Rich and I had an interest in the former privately owned California law school. Also, I am a retired United States Army Judge Advocate officer. With these (hypothetical and declared) conflicts of interest in mind, I avow I'm here to contribute information and edits that will improve the quality of Law school, Legal, Judge Advocate General's Corps, and Armed forces/Military-related pages. As I continue to edit in these subjects, I no longer edit the article for my particular school. In any event, I am aware of Wikipedia policies & guidelines and I abide by them. [Declaration originally posted on [[User:Srich32977|S. Rich]] 17:36, 19 November 2010 (UTC) & 14:01, 21 May 2011 (UTC).] Restated on & by – S. Rich (talk) 23:57, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

More COI?[edit]

At various times I've attended Riverside Polytechnic High School (Class of '67), Riverside City College, University of California, Riverside, Chapman University, University of San Diego Law School, Virginia Commonwealth University, and John Tyler Community College. I have investments in numerous stocks (which I frequently confuse with stocks). I live in Southern California. – S. Rich (talk) 07:09, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

PS: I was a US Army enlisted field medic and NCO – so my "COI" regarding Army issues is not restricted to an officer perspective. – S. Rich 23:26, 19 December 2010 (UTC) And most of my Reserve military experience was with Civil Affairs.07:09, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

PS (Continued): As a Judge Advocate, I served as a Defense Counsel (not with TDS though), Chief of Legal Assistance, Assistant Staff Judge Advocate, International Law Officer, Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, and Command Judge Advocate. 00:01, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

PPS: I have served in (or traveled to) Iraq, Korea, Djibouti, Thailand, Germany, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Zanzibar, and Qatar in connection with my military service, so I have an interest in those countries.07:14, 28 August 2017 (UTC) In my non-military travel I've been to France, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Poland, Norway, Italy, Finland, Austria, Luxembourg, Sweden, Belgium, Québec, Hungary, Turkey, Czechoslovakia, Liechtenstein, Spain, Skåne, Bahamas, Northern Ireland, Greece, Vatican City, Denmark, Monaco, Mexico, Basque Country (Zazpiak Bat), Bermuda, Tahiti, Canada, Egypt, Netherlands, Dominican Republic, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Portugal, Chile, and (duh) the United States. – S. Rich (talk) 07:09, 28 August 2017 (UTC) I might as well add I've had stop-overs in Iceland, Dubai, Crete, Okinawa, Yemen, and Azores.07:09, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

PPPS: Here is a bit of fun from User:Bowling is life. Thank you Bowling.

A sutdy[citation needed] sowehd taht olny 25% of poelpe can raed tihs. All you hvae to do is tkae the frsit and lsat lteter of a wrod and the raest can be ttolaly mxeid up in the wrod. The sduty siad taht the hmaun biran dnesot raed the wolhe wrod, but olny prat of it. If you are one of the 25% taht can raed tihs, put tihs in yuor usperpgae.

So, I do my absolute best here, always. Wikipedia is a special place to me, and I'm sure that is the case for you too. I continue to try and be active as much as I possibly can a few hours each weelk. My talk page is open to everyone, and you may also email me.

Very best regards, S. Rich (talk

For your minor—but essential—corrections in Oakwood Cemetery (Troy, New York). Somehow this thing got all the way up and through WP:FAR and those errors still lingered. Many thanks for the fix! :) upstateNYer 03:17, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

I just wanted to thank you for all the work you've done on Palm Springs related articles. For some strange reason the Palm Springs article did not really receive the attention it deserves until you improved it. Great job! 72Dino (talk) 15:09, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Hello Srich32977, TransporterMan has given you a laughing Falstaff, for your use of The Church Lady as the example at Talk:World Mission Society Church of God#3O response! You see, these things promote WikiLove and hopefully this has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a laughing Falstaff! Enjoy!

There has been a recent spike at the administrator's noticeboards to skip the whole 'evidence' phase and move straight into death by mob rule. That list of edits on here is absolutely great and exactly what we need to do when we want to sanction editors. That must've taken a lot of work you compile. v/r - TP 13:07, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

Respect Barnstar
Just wanted to remind you that there are still those of us who understand and respect you. You have done more for this project than any of your adversaries tenfold. I think this all turned into one complete mess, with an editor causing trouble. I think it is time to move passed any of the ANIs and ArbComs... You've won nearly every debate on the talk pages, where it counts and this website is better for what you've done. And, having written way more than the traditional wikilover, I'll leave you with one final piece of advice from Sun Tzu- "To fight and conquer in all our battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting." PrairieKid (talk) 04:36, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Of the various (and deservedly few) messages of support sent my way, yours is the most touching. I shall endeavor to continue to earn your respect. PraireKid, you have my heartfelt thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 05:28, 6 January 2014 (UTC) Let me add that I've been a teenager for several decades now. ;-) 05:52, 6 January 2014 (UTC) |-

Because you thanked me[edit]

You thanked me for one of my recent edits, so here is a heart-felt...
 YOU'RE WELCOME, Srich32977!
It's a pleasure, and I sincerely hope that you enjoy your continued improvement of this inspiring encyclopedia! – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX!
