Ransomware[edit]

I'm in agreement with Steel and The Anome - there's no call for adding 'cryptovirology' into this first sentence. Not only is it logically wrong, (not all ransomware is crypto-based), but the sentance you just created, "Ransomware is a type of malicious software from cryptovirology that blocks access to the victim's data or threatens to publish or delete it until a ransom is paid." is also poor English. There's been no move to remove cryptovirology references from later in the article - so please stop this campaign. Snori (talk) 04:02, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Ransomware, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. SkyWarrior 02:03, 4 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
