"Fixing" links[edit]

Hi, I wanted to let you know that "fixing" links is not only unnecessary, but it is actually discouraged. You can read more about it at WP:NOTBROKEN. Basically, it is ok to change the link if you are changing the target page, especially if you are disambiguating links. But if the link in question already redirects to the correct page, please do not "fix" it. Let me know if you have other questions about this. – Mformatt(So it goes.) 18:50, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

April 2018[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Please stop "fixing" links. They are WP:NOTBROKEN Broccoli & Coffee (Oh hai) 01:04, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, per the messages above in #Stop changing links and #"Fixing" links, per WP:NOTBROKEN, use of a redirect is fine. In the example of your edits to Australian Army, it is more relevant to have Warrant Officer capitalized than to avoid the redirect. There is no gain in avoiding redirects and it would be better to make it an [[A|B]] redirect such as [[warrant officer|Warrant Officer]] rather than remove the capitalization as it is a title. — IVORK Discuss 23:39, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

Thank you for fixing the disambiguation link to mint in Tzatziki. Also, I'm not sure what the deal is with those two previous warrnings; in both cases you fixed the link so it contained the proper diacritics. Thanks for that, too! (Other editors, n.b.: fixing spelling error redirects is explicitly not covered by NOTBROKEN.) Cheers, Just plain Bill (talk) 16:33, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, there are quite a few people giving you warnings for disruptive editing. They are right to do so. However, some of the contributions you make are really useful. I don't want you to get banned... I just wanted to ask you, do you know the difference between useful and disruptive? Because if you can stop being disruptive but can continue with the useful edits, myself and many others would really appreciate your efforts and thank you for them. But if you carry on like this, you're going to get yourself blocked, and that'll be a shame for both you and Wikipedia. If you need help understanding the difference, give me a shout, I'm more than happy to help. Let me know. All the best, Dr. Vogel (talk) 22:56, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
